The Tokugawa Princess Yohime, 1887 - Lovely image of the young Princess Yohime, the daughter of the eleventh Shogun Tokugawa Ienari, tying her husband's sandal as he sits in the doorway of a home. He looks down at her affectionately as she crouches beside him, absorbed in her task. Stepping stones lead to the entrance, and falling cherry blossom petals can be seen through the open window inside. Beautifully detailed with a faint burnished pattern in the black robe and embossing in the white kimono collar and the sash around his waist, and intricate patterns in the fabric of the husband's under robe and pants. A charming design of an intimate moment between the couple.
