'Realistic and Achievable Goals' by Paul Connor

The idea of the realistic and achievable life goals was that, in January many westerners set New Year Resolutions.
In theory not a bad idea, a chance to press the reset button, take stock and set goals for the forthcoming year. If these goals are achievable and realistic and attainable, all is good. Unfortunately many set unachievable goals and then give up when the task seems too big.
The goals are always short term for short term gain. To move away from a New Year resolution to a life goal, automatically takes away the pressure of achieving in the short term as you are setting daily and weekly targets that can be achieved for decades.
I broke the tasks into actions of body, speech and mind ie the things you do, the things you say and the things you think.
These should be set with positive motivation with positive intention.
Consider the goals you set with a timescale of decades and depending on your family circumstances, wealth and health, time and practicalities, you may also have physical obstacles so take all your personal circumstances in to consideration and do not aim to high or far and make these goals achievable and realistic and, most importantly, goals and outcomes which you believe in.
‘Nature within Ten miles of your House’ and it’s sister
concepts ‘History within Ten miles of your House’ and 'It's a small world after all' were created out of these resolutions.
In the west and with the aid of the world wide web and global communication and interaction it is, on one hand, simpler to become involved and interested in experiences
1000’s miles away, which is beneficial as it provides knowledge of different cultures and species but lacks intimacy through contact, whilst on the other hand, it is easy to neglect the experiences that can happen right on your doorstep.
The aim of the concept of ‘Nature within Ten miles of your House’ is to show that the wonder of nature is both local and limitless and it is more beneficial as it can be experienced with all the senses. My belief is that the human species is losing its connection with nature, to its detriment, so a prime objective is to reconnect or redirect the human species with nature through contact and the wisdom of ancient civilisations.
My intention is not to gain popularity or success through my experiences but endeavour to highlight the wonders of nature and to show that the wonders of nature are everywhere. Included below are indirect positives gained ie memories, the benefits of regular exercise and increased knowledge at a minimal cost.
This concept is aimed at every individual’s personal experiences of involvement and engagement and therefore should result in millions of unique journeys.

'My eight realistic and achievable goals'
'Let tomorrow be the day we put down our mobile phones and tablets, switch off the television and the game station and talk, listen and share our thoughts with partners, family and friends".
"To stop living our "lives through fictitious characters and celebrities and leave the house, explore this beautiful planet and create memories and history of our own".
"To be thankful for what we have and not crave for what we have not and for our happiness, not to be determined by the likes we receive from the many, but the love we receive from the few"
"Let tomorrow be the day that we break down the barriers of difference, learn about the lives of others and move towards a unified planet, safe in the knowledge that incidental of colour, race, class or geography our species goals are fundamentally the same'

"Be yourself and be proud of your good qualities, be strong in your resolve to change your life for the positive and remember that 'the need for acceptance, by others, in this life can you make you invisible, let your light shine through"
"Create an environment around you that permeates trust, respect, honesty and others will be attracted to your environment not repelled. Be open to opportunities and when opportunities arise accept them without fear"
"Let tomorrow be the day that the health and wellbeing of your body and mind becomes a priority to you for the good of yourself, your partner, your family and your friends. The best version of yourself is ultimately the best version for everyone’
"Expand your horizons from the protection of the 'I' to the health and wellbeing of the 'Us'
