Questions and Answers with regards buying art from The Connor Contemporary.

Here are some frequently asked questions

1. How can I be sure the art is authentic?

All the art we present is sourced either directly from the artist or reputable galleries. As a collector, I have conducted thorough due diligence, and being a Northerner and a Buddhist, I do not tolerate dishonesty in myself or others.

2. Do you ship art internationally?

We primarily ship art within the UK due to past challenges with international shipping. Most of the pieces are framed, making shipping generally complex. However, this is considered on a case-by-case basis.

3. Do you offer promotions on the artworks?

Generally, the answer is no. There are two reasons for this:

1) The art we showcase is fairly priced, and The Connor Contemporary's policy is to reinvest all profits back into art and the artists.

2) Offering discounts would be disrespectful to the artists' talent, creativity, and hard work.

4. Do we need to pay for the artwork in full, or are there payment plans available?

We offer several payment plans, including paying in three instalments or setting up pre-arranged direct debits.

5. Is there a refund policy?

   
   

We provide a full refund policy if the artwork isn't in the advertised condition, but not if you simply change your mind about the piece.

6. Is buying art a good way to make money?

   
   

   My straightforward answer is No. Personally, I have never bought art with the sole purpose of making money or if I didn't appreciate the piece or the artist. While it's possible to earn money by buying art, and many have done so, I generally recommend choosing art that captivates you or resonates with you, with the intention of enjoying it over a long period.

7. Why should I purchase from a gallery instead of directly from the artist?

   
   

   There are several reasons to buy art directly from the artist, such as establishing a direct connection, commissioning a unique piece not available for general sale, or negotiating a price with the artist. However, buying through a gallery offers a different experience, as the curator can provide advice on framing, investment, or information about the artist. Additionally, the gallery might have artworks that the artist no longer possesses.
