Maya, Me and Murals - Brighton, UK
So in our quest to hunt down street art around the UK, my malamute mix Maya and me visited the very cool and chic city of Brighton yesterday.

The areas we focused on were:
- The trendy shops and narrow streets known as The Lanes
- The area around Brighton Railway Street including Trafalgar Street
- Western Road heading towards Hove

Now, to be clear, we got lost, a lot, took some great directions from locals and some not great directional advice from others but it all adds up to the fun of exploring and also reveals some hidden treats.

Special mention goes to the folks at https://phases.org.uk/march-2025-brighton-hub-4-circularity/ who gave me a brief history of Brighton, some timely directions and a place for Maya to rest. Their pop up shop, close to the Brighton Pavilion is open for the next couple of months.

For the dog lovers amongst you. Maya, got tired, with her little legs but we stopped and rested a lot and there was public water taps to fill up her bottle. The weather was warm with a little breeze so it was comfortable for Maya. As a side note we went on the beach and Maya was fascinated, she is a rescue street dog from Bosnia so a trip to the beach is a different experience for her.

Brighton is a must for art lovers, there are plenty of art galleries, antique and vintage clothes shops and we didn't get a chance to visit the area north of The Grande Parade and Lewis Rd which was also full of street art.

We travelled to Brighton by car but there are easy and quicks from London by rail, trains are very regular and there are fast train services available.

As you can see, we saw a lot of murals some hidden away in backstreets and others in plain sight, notably those on and around The Prince Albert Pub near the station.
